BaseCheck Privacy Policy

We may collect information you provide or generate while using BaseCheck, including:

• photos you upload
• written descriptions
• property address or approximate location, if you provide it
• scan mode or issue type
• answers in the upload form
• account email
• feedback and bug reports
• payment information processed by our payment provider, although we do not store card numbers
• technical metadata needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service
• analytics and ads measurement data

We use this information to:

• generate and improve your report
• operate, maintain, debug, and secure the service
• use anonymised or de-identified examples to improve quality
• process payments
• measure ads, marketing, and product performance

Your information is stored with secure cloud hosting and database providers.

We keep reports, uploads, and account information while your account or report is active, unless a longer period is needed for security, legal, payment, or operational reasons.

You can request correction or deletion by contacting us at the address below.

If you create a share link, whoever has that link can view that report's content. You choose who to share it with.

We do not sell your personal information, and your information is never shown to other users. We share it only with the service providers we need to operate the service — secure cloud hosting, payment processing, and the AI that generates your report — who are required to keep it confidential and use it only to provide the service. Some of these providers are located overseas (e.g. in the United States); where we share information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable privacy protection, consistent with the Privacy Act 2020.

We use privacy-friendly product analytics to understand how the service performs and where users run into problems.

We also use an advertising conversion tag to measure ad performance and understand whether advertising leads to useful product actions.

You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information.

New Zealand users may have rights under the Privacy Act 2020.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy concern, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

US users may have rights under state privacy laws, which vary by state.

We may update this privacy policy as the service develops. If changes are significant, we will try to make them reasonably visible on the website.
